Xiamen, March 16, 2025 — The vibrant city of Xiamen was alive with creativity today as the LONGITUDE exhibition opened its doors at the esteemed Nordic Contemporary Art Center. This remarkable event features 69 artists from 28 countries, showcasing a stunning array of art that transcends geographic and cultural boundaries.

Among the prominent artists featured is Bong Antivola, a talented representative from the Philippines. Antivola expressed his gratitude for being part of such a diverse artistic community, stating, “It is an honor to be one of the featured artists at the LONGITUDE exhibition. Art has always been a universal language—a bridge that connects cultures, transcends borders, and unites people across the globe.”

The theme of the exhibition resonates deeply with its attendees as it illustrates the power of art to foster understanding and connection. Antivola emphasized that each piece displayed tells a story, not only that of the artist but also of the world we share. “In a world often divided by differences, art reminds us of our common humanity,” he remarked, highlighting how art reflects joys, struggles, and dreams across diverse cultures.

The exhibition features a variety of artistic expressions, from the serene Nordic landscapes to the vibrant colors of tropical life, blending abstract works with figurative pieces. This eclectic mix creates a rich tapestry of perspectives, encouraging visitors to see the world through multiple lenses. Antivola noted, “Despite our differences in style, medium, and origin, there is a common thread that binds us all—the belief that art has the power to inspire, to heal, and to bring people together.”

Today’s opening was not only a showcase of art but also a celebration of connection and community. Antivola extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Nordic Contemporary Art Center for providing a platform for artists from around the globe. “Through our art, we are building bridges, fostering understanding, and creating a sense of belonging that transcends geography and culture,” he emphasized.

Attendees were invited to immerse themselves in the art, experiencing it as a conversation—a collaboration that speaks to shared humanity. The LONGITUDE exhibition serves as a powerful reminder that no matter where we come from, we are all part of the same human story.

As visitors walked through the exhibition, they were encouraged to reflect on the transformative potential of art. Antivola’s closing remarks resonated profoundly: “Together, through art, we can create a world that is more connected, more compassionate, and more united.”

The LONGITUDE exhibition will run at the Nordic Contemporary Art Center through the end of the month, offering art lovers an opportunity to experience this unique convergence of global creativity firsthand.
